"Our
SEU is super-successful. The teachers work out fantastic programs for every child
with parents and carers . We have won awards for the programs here for several
years and in 2003 was the only SEU in the State to reach State Finalist in the
Showcase Awards for Excellence in Education. Students are happy in our SEU."

Special
Education Unit
Students with special needs are included in all aspects of school life and are supported by specialist staff on both campus sites. These specialists work closely with mainstream staff and consult parents and care-givers regularly to ensure that programs and strategies are developed to meet the individual needs of the student.
Ascertained students in the areas of Intellectual Impairment, Speech Language Impairment, Vision Impairment, Physical Impairment and Autistic Spectrum Disorder can access a variety of learning options. This may include one-to-one assistance, modified and alternate programs or involve support within the mainstream classes.
Students can participate in a number of vocational education, work experience and community based learning programs. These are inclusive in nature so that all students can take part and achieve success. Forming the basis of learning activities within the special education unit are a range of key competencies which are designed to prepare students for adult life within the community.
